Nitro,
well, that's why Pink Floyd is great, because different people are able to find something specific that they like much.

Someone is saying that Gilmour Era is twofold, but when band abandoned SB, there were critics, who said 'oh, band lost their soul and spirit, they will never be old and good Pink Floyd. Waters and guys want to earn money, not to make real art'. But band created so many "master pieces".

Nitro, Normis,

Most likely I'm too biased about this period, because I'm fan of David Gilmour and his personality.

well, Division Bell had a few highlights, just as AMLOR did, but it's still only on par with PF tribute bands. Having said that - DG's latest "On an Island" makes up to the last years as a perfect, almost unbelievable album (for a solo). Division Bell pales in this great albums shadow. There are no specific hit songs or great pompous shows, but in it's simplicity - the album is flawless.

Post-Waters era also is twofold. In "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" Gilmour apparently had trouble taking up Waters' place, but with "The Division Bell" the band proved they can go through on their own.

Yes and No.
Before 70's it was Barrett band, it was specific and I'm not fan of it.

70's was golden era for great albums one by one, as far as I see (not only me) Roger Waters had taken main role in band.Agree.

I agree that Middle 80's - 1994 (last album released), when David Gilmour taken Waters role, there were only two studio albums,

This period is important, just because it gave us "The Delicate Sound of Thunder" and "Pulse". These live albums are fantastic heritage for future generations.

My favourite PF era is in the seventies. Before that they were a different band, and after that - they don't exist.

Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you were here, Animals, The Wall. And maybe also Final Cut, but that's more like a Roger Waters album.

Agree :) with you both.
1) There are a lot of Pink Floyd songs, when I get shivers (especially if we are talking about concert songs).

2) There are very very few, this is one of the character, when you can classify band as fantastic great, of course total IMHO.

There are not many bands out there whose music calls shivers for me, but it is one of the most pleasant feelings :)
