Грандиозные и культовые фильмы проходят меня стороной. Оставаясь где-то внизу моего списка приоритетов. Пришел черед пасть одному из многих бастионов (башен:)), который долго был недоступен.

Я начинал читать книгу, которая была подарена мне на день рождение, но после жизнеописания хоббитов и 10 страниц, откладывал книгу до лучших времен. Я начинал смотреть фильм (1 2 часть), как оригинальную версию, так и изковерканую переводом, но все время находил причины выключить фильм, и занаяться чем-нибудь другим.

На этих выходных наконец-таки были посмотрены две части “Властелина колец” в полной неурезаной версии. Поразительно как много людей вдохновилось и использует идеи заложенные автором в книге (затем воспроизведеные в фильме, и еще в сотне других произведений и работ). По сути сюжет построеный лишь на том, что предмет Х нужно доставить из пункта А в пункт В, представлен в таком обилии красок и событий, как говорится почувствуй силу своего воображения.

И я не согласен, что стоит смотреть только первую часть. Пусть во второй части больше мяса, она намного проще, но более четко выстроенный сюжет сделал эту серию более привлекательной для меня. Если после первой были вопросы, what a fuck, 3.5 часа возни и ходьбы впустую, и вопросы стоит ли смотреть 2 часть. Вторая часть разожгла желание побыстрей посмотреть третью и узнать, чем же поход закончится.

I assume you know, who is Mahatma Gandhi. If you do not know much except that he was Indian leader for independence, find time and watch this film,

Movie is very balanced, it is documentary on the first place with great actor play beyond it . All the way long authentic atmosphere is following you, like you are one of the Gandhi supporters, who is following him.

If you do no know much about Gandhi, you will be introduced into the philosophy of non-violence and get the get illustration, how good human, can unite and hold together other people. How layer gained support of millions people and became spiritual leader of the biggest country in the World.

Certainly this movie is from the category, that you must see.

Every people can learn from Gandhi citation,

One of the best movie I’ve ever seen.
Story about meaning of happiness, life and freedom.

It could be great movie, if there were not some exceptions.

Movie is about 12 jurors, who decide about Chechen boy charged with murdering his stepfather. Actually movie is very interesting, there are different unexpected turns in movie line, especially at the end. There are 10 different stories plus main story line.

Different society layers are shown very brightly and every from 12 is representative of each layer (taxi driver, politician, engineer, tube worker, cemetery manager, media manager, etc.). Characteristics are displayed very clear, that are matching each layer.

Actually, IMHO movie is about indifference between people, between strangers. There is strong monologue,
“Все так !
Увидали,
Осудили,
Потрындели,
Махнули,
Покурили,
и все.”

“All it the same,
seen something,
discussed it,
talked about it,
drunk for it,
smoked for it,
that’s all, no more action.

But there are some buts,
1) this idea was generally taken from 12 angry men, despite of the fact that original movie is about something different, the idea was not author idea.

2) writer is playing one of the role, the role that is something like God, the man who is above all of us.

3) I do not know, whether translation will be qualitative enough for this movie to express all the feelings and ideas.

Movie about Helvetica font (typeface). I could not imagine, that documentary movie about font and its influence can be so interesting. It leaves influence and forces to think about fonts that are surrounding your all the time.

Helvetica is the name of widely used typeface (font), that was created at 1957. A lot of major companies and products have used Helvetica for their brand faces.

Movie is about Helvetica invention, what was before it and what changes brought the actual invention of one particular typefaces.
There are a lot of visual examples shown to express power of Helvetica typeface. As well negative characteristics issued with overuse it.
