Do you know which is national symbol of Latvia ?
You may think it could be Coat of Arms, for others it may be Auseklis [at least for National Awakers]. For me both are far from current latvian nation spirit.

Whenever you are going in Latvia, everywhere you are followed by the sign and by “good” and “best quality” roads, which are the brand name for this road sign…
I agree that Latvian climate environment isn’t too much comfortable for good roads without proper care [relatively cold in winter and relatively warm at summer]. Perhaps big transit flow of big tracks is guilty for our roads quality, perhaps traces of Latvian tradition to make stuff uncompleted then come and fix it after time. I don’t have any precise clues, why Latvian roads everywhere followed by the sign. Lithuanian roads are experiencing similar transit flow, but they roads are looking much better.
I dream that sometime I’ll drive by nice Latvian road, which is similar to Estonian roads in Valga district, and can enjoy driving not slalom as usually …
WTF ? Rīga seems to be the paradise of the gambling !!! How you can explain 12 gambling places on the 3 km road, by main road in Purvciems and small part of Plavnieki. There are less crossroads with traffic lights rather than gambling places, huh.
Who is shitting money there ? Can you tell me ?! If there are 12, places should bring good income, I suspect there is the same situation with number of gambling houses in other parts of Riga. Crazy people …

Зачем нужно стрелять по цаплям ? Владея частным участком земли, нужно задумываться хоть о малейшей ответсвенности за рядом обитающий животный мир. И если человек себя может худо бедно защитить , животному оградить себя от человеческих нападок неимоверно сложно.
Одно дело когда животные разбираются между собой путем естесвенного отбора, другое дело когда вмешиваются постороние люди. Доколе между нас будут жить люди готовые бросать котят на растерзание, потрошить гнезда черных аистов, стрелять в невинных цапель…
In Latvia it’s not allowed to use mobile phone in a car. However it’s allowed to smoke in a car. Probably smoking a cigar takes less resources from our brain. Who knows, but smoking takes drivers concentration as well.
I’m not against smokers in cars. I don’t even think that car is public place, it’s driver private place where only passengers can be against smoking. Probably smoking in car is making drivers calm [at least I heard it from few guys]. What do you want from narcotics, huh ?!
But I hate almost anyone Riga’s driver who is smoking in a car ! Why ? Because 90% of smokers think that ash-tray is outside the window, not in the car.
